CEOs surround themselves with the most conceited and naive of all echo chambers.
They live in an imaginary world in which their backward opinions work better than what has been proven to work time and time again by every research ever done on any subject. They will one day wake up to a blue sky, claim it’s actually pink with green polka dots, and blame “the woke agenda” or some such nonsense when they are obviously proven wrong.The closest analogy I’ve ever heard for what modern CEOs have become is “Like a bunch of Naked Emperors jerking each other off while shitting all over everyone below them”. lmao, they tried to suspend my account for “harassing” a scam post.
They 7-day banned me for ‘encouraging violence’ for saying I didn’t think Mangione deserved to go to jail for what he did. I appealed it and it was lifted, but not before it was upgraded to a permanent ban for ban-evasion on other accounts (I’ve never had more than one account in my 14 years of reddit.) The perma-ban was lifted on appeal too, but by that point I was just like fuuuuck off.
i’ve had various accounts over the years and never gotten hit for “ban evasion”. that being said that suspension was my last straw and i deleted my account.
Yeah, what’s even funnier is after noticing and appealing the temp ban I logged off and the only time I went back was to check my mail for a response which is when I noticed the perma-ban, so between those two time periods I was literally not even on reddit, so I have no idea what the fuck they were on about.
Same thing happened to me. I told a guy to fuck off and got banned for not being nice. I appealed, but before that process completed, they permanbanned my 14 year account. I like that on Lemmy I can say normally uncontroversial things like “Nazi scum fuck off”.

I was perma-banned like 11 hours before my temp-ban was lifted, per the timing on the messages in my inbox, so I think the admins just got a lil carried away with the fashy bullshit and then walked it back a little.

Reddit has a feature where there helpfully link your account to stranger’s accounts. When the stranger is banned from any sub, you are too. But you don’t know you are banned from those subs. So when you innocently post, you get perma-banned.
I had no idea that was a thing, nor who I would have done it with considering none of my friends or family use reddit. Much less how I could’ve done it without even knowing about it.

I got in trouble for “report abuse” as I reported every post for sexualizing minors in a sub dedicated to a certain musician/OnlyFans model “in their prime” aka before they were 18.

Yes this was worse in my mind than getting the sane for reporting a sub that sold CSAM because at least that involved research and critical thinking (why would a post be a scan of a print photograph taken with an analogue camera of a handwritten list of porn mags? answer: they were all legally produced at the time CSAM)
Same here report abuse for misinformation of political comments, I heard the CSam was going down in the barely moderated medical subs, through the DM, mods finally stepped in, but they allow self harm

I see the fall of big social media into fascism as a big problem, despite the fact that it makes them less popular. The nazis are actively destroying spaces for communication of opposing opinions. They don’t mind the medias are harmed by that. The important thing is that what remains becomes a fascist echo chamber. Most normal people won’t be able to find alternatives like lemmy, so it makes the numbers of people with opposing views who are able to communicate smaller with every fall of a medium, social or other.
