As someone who values content over design, I don’t miss those days. I find flashing images stressful (yes, I have prefers-reduced-motion enabled, I also block gifs by default), I hate it when contrast is horrible, etc.

This was usually not an issue in the olden days, but became really bad during the MySpace days, when everyone thought they were a genius designer, and this accessibility horror is often wished back by people on HN or this blog author (according to their screenshot). There are issues, but they are rarely design related.
