I really want to try this game but it’s still so expensive. I’ve heard it’s worth it
Expensive? It’s $45 on Steam? I consider $45 for potentially hundreds of hours of entertainment to be extremely cheap.
It’s actually worth the price. I’m also a patient gamer; this is the only full price game I’ve bought since 2020ish. 120 hours to beat the main campaign once is already worth it. There’s actually substance to the hype around the game. The only full price game I’ll buy in the foreseeable future is Silksong.
I feel like this one actually earns that price tag
It will still be good when it comes on sale. It is however one of the few games where I decided to get it at full price, and I didn’t regret it.
Yeah I’m going patient gamer with this one. Partially it’s because I’ve not enjoyed the combat in other Larian games, even the critically acclaimed D:OS2. More more of an old school RtwP fan like the original 2 Baldurs Gate games.
However I’m a huge RPG fan so I think the dynamism I’ve heard about in this one’s plot will win me over.
I was also a little turned off by DOS2, mainly because it felt like every decision was hugely pivotal to the story outcome, and sometimes it was nearly impossible to get the “good” outcome. BG3 is more forgiving, but is similar. There are more cutscenes, the story is better, and the audio effects on casting spells actually helped my enjoyment a lot. Someone bought the game for me and I really didn’t think I would like it, 200 hours later I’m a big fan.

Eldritch Blast really earned its name, I love the way the spell sounds in that game
I can’t remember what it sounds like, will have to fire it up! My favorite was Shadowheart healing. There’s a perfect amount of reverb and echo on it. Everything just sounds…powerful.
It’s an absolute gem
However don’t ruin yourself, no game is worth that
You won’t afford it by ruining yourself, unless it’s for spectators.
Same here. There’s many games I want to try/play but they are too expensive.
