Isn’t the pinecil cheaper? Why would you get this instead of the pinecil itself?

I don’t even know how to solder
I just turn the knob and it gets hotter. Then I turn it the knob the other way and it gets less hot. I’m not sure what other features you need.
I’m very interested to know the improvements brought forth by flashing said firmware. Anyone with a tl:dr?

My favorite features:
- Temperature control
- Put the Iron to sleep if it doesn’t sense motion
- Put on a font that I can read.
- Better power usage on my external battery
