    PORNHUB

It’s Pornhub, like https://pornhub.com/. One of the biggest (if not the biggest) porn site on the planet, used by millions if not billions. There is nothing wrong with watching porn if you feel like it. What you do in your own home is your own business. Just don’t wank too much, or you are going to have health issues. Which are also totally normal and you should just go talk to your doctor, they will not be surprised or shocked, it is literally their job to deal with stuff like that.

I feel the world is going crazy. Shoving all of this stuff under the carpet isn’t helping anyone and won’t make it go away. Half of the time I can’t understand my young niece and nephew because they speak in this code language, evolving all the time so they can talk about normal stuff young people talk about and stay ahead of the big censor machine. And often it’s censored so poorly, everyone can still read it, like what was the point then?

Pornhub being the foundation of the internet may be seen as controversial by some.

Maybe not specifically PH but porn actually always was the driving force for the net since day 1. We don’t have high speed net now because someone needed to download a linux-distro quicker. Or google harder. YouTube and vimeo and such came waaaaaaay later. There also were no social media where people needed to upload large dog-pics. It was porn. Everyone wanted their tits to download NOW not somewhere in the future.

And I vividly remember the times where you had to wait for a long while to see your image grow line by line until you finally maybe saw said tit, and it surely - and hopefully - wasn’t a bird 😁

I have no studies at hand but I’d bet part of my left nut on that theory. Hence I found that image concluding.

I’d put yt under ph, but only just. Everything else, ph paved the way. And tbf, another porn site probably cleared the way for yt, though I couldn’t tell you which one.

I remember the first time I saw the phrase “streaming video” was a website called “teen steam” (which I desperately wanted a credit card to access) in the late 90s / early 2000s.

I’m sure you can guess what the content of that site was and I was sure that “streaming” was some new sex act I had yet to discover and wanted very much to find out. Sadly I was too young, too poor and logged onto the Internet in the school library at lunch time so it was always going to be a long shot.

Haha I remember that time too well. Luckily I had a CC and I bought everything on the net back then and was so fascinated by it. Typing a number in and getting stuff. I ordered crap from the other side of the world, it was incredible. Yes, porn included. How could one resist that temptation back then, I was 12 or so 😁

Might’ve been 14, I don’t really remember exactly. And it was the CC attached to my company’s bank-acc so the bank wasn’t that nitpicky. It were simpler times in many aspects. But the fascination of online-shopping only grew slightly less great in my 30s 😁

Unironically, a lot of tech improvements started to make/view porn better.

      Example: 3D models improvements.

Can we PLEASE make ffmpeg use GPL for everything?

Actually, can we do that for just all open source software. I’m getting kinda tired of large multinationals using open source for free to make billions over billions and then give back a dollar or so for each of those…

Maybe there are exceptions here and there but most companies give back shit

That’s cute. As if commercial entities don’t contribute to foss 🤣

I bet you there is at least 3M worth of investment from folks bring paid in this thread.

Moat don’t, and those that do still contribute only pennies to the dollars they’re making

But they don’t though, they take more & give less (if not outright steal)

No, they don’t. And I didn’t know where you guys came up with this. You honestly think any real development to shit like k8s, Kafka, and most of Apache foundation software is just being tinkered with people working for free?

Sure there are areas where there is more “free” support. But the shit that runs servers and the web, highly highly corporate supported. Nothing about it is free.

        They… Usually don’t.

Not a single company I’ve worked for actually makes FOSS contributions to the dependencies they rely upon.

They usually don’t but some do. I’m only cherry picking this because I don’t know much about Big Tech and FOSS. Bootstrap was developed in Twitter, React is maintained by Facebook/Meta, AngularJS was maintained by Google in the past but it’s now discontinued. Google also has Summer of Code. I’m not a Big Tech shill but the larger ones do make some contributions.

Yeah, they do, but it’s still pennies to the dollar, and usually they only do because it benefits them to do so.

Companies using open source must be forced to contribute back fairly

You’re talking about absolutely massive companies who represent their own shared interests. And just by volume, they will produce an open source projects through engineering culture variation within a company itself.

And represent only a fractional part of the tech workforce and companies that don’t contribute back to open source.

Censoring “porn” with a black asshole?

A man of class and style, I see.

Thank god someone scratched out a letter in that mysterious word. Otherwise I may have seen something obscene. Now I have no idea what is meant to be written on that block 🤔

I take it you’re not a big fan of censorship, so can you kindly tell me what the word is? (I’ve heard something fun happens if a .ml user writes “porn”)

Pornhub? I don’t think .ml censors “porn” (I can see your comment just fine), just some slurs/offensive words afaik.

Edit: And I can see my own comment just fine.

You wouldn’t see it if you’re not on .ml. The removed censoring is clientside so I’d see it using the .ml hosted web client.

Funny story. You can stream to all platforms with RTMP but only piece of software that was able to play rtmp in browser (flashplayer) is dead.

Create a FUSE library to use that as backing storage for a filesystem, and you can make use of the infrastructure for free cloud storage. Maybe twityouhubfs.
